Joseph Zente

Joe understands entrepreneurs. He has run eight companies, founded six and sold two. He has also facilitated over 600 CEO Board Meetings. His experience includes 30 years leading international companies involved in a variety of products, services, technologies and programs. Joe has led companies with offers ranging from complex capital equipment & medical instrumentation to fish, software, sporting goods and conceptual services. He is intimately familiar with the challenges faced by start-ups, hyper-growth firms and large multi-nationals. A serial entrepreneur, national speaker, and investor, Joe led dramatic turn-arounds at two scientific equipment companies prior to committing to a life of serial entrepreneurship.

Diane Breidenstein

 

Diane BreidensteinDiane earned a Masters degree at Duke University, with concentrations in business and healthcare. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a focus in business and communications. She is a licensed practitioner in the Insights Discovery System and is a TAB® Certified Facilitator and Strategic Business Leadership® Coach. Diane is also certified as a Lominger Organizational Change Consultant.

 

Diane has 25+ years of senior level leadership experience in both small businesses and the large corporate environment. Her professional experiences include:

 

  • Co-founded a successful start-up that grew in size and scope over an eight year period and was sold to a Fortune 500 company
  • Led successful joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions
  • Developed and directed high performing executive and management teams in a highly regulated industry
  • Provided leadership to strategic planning, business development, and growth initiatives
  • Developed strong operational skills through managing organizations for HCA, the Healthcare Company

 

Diane is currently a partner with Intergistic Solutions, a business and management consulting firm. Her broad professional experiences, strong leadership skills and collaborative style contribute to her demonstrated ability to assess problems, design solutions, and help owners grow their business. She consults primarily in the areas of leadership effectiveness, team/organizational performance, and business/strategic planning and growth. She is a skilled executive coach and facilitator.


Otis Brinkley

 

Otis BrinkleyOtis Brinkley has been a TAB® Certified Facilitator for over eighteen years and founded TAB in Austin in 1995. During that period, he has facilitated over 450 TAB CEO Peer Advisory Board meetings and conducted over 4,000 individual private coaching sessions.

 

Otis possesses over 25 years of corporate management experience, including twelve years as President and CEO of three companies. His functional strength was in sales management; leading teams of up to 120 highly paid sales representatives. His primary expertise was in turn-around and high growth situations in the information technology sectors. Companies he led varied from $10 to $250 million in annual revenue.

 

Otis has raised significant capital for growth, executed mergers & acquisitions and has significant experience in board governance. He built and led highly talented management teams. Otis has served as a Director on a number of fiduciary boards in Austin and is currently facilitating a TAB® Advisory Board. Prior to a career in business, Otis spent ten years as a pilot with the U.S. Navy and Pan American World Airways. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri.

 

Tom Irby

 

Tom IrbyTom Irby was born and raised in South Texas and graduated from Harlingen High School in 1978. Tom attended Texas State University in San Marcos and received his B.A. in 1983.

 

In 1983 he was hired as the second full time employee of CompuAdd Corporation and was soon promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. CompuAdd grew from a startup to over $700 million in annual sales within a nine year period. Tom founded several sales departments that accounted for hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue per year. While employed at CompuAdd in 1988, he founded a small payphone business to provide payphones to local businesses in the Central Texas area. By 1992, the payphone business transitioned into a full time business and by 1999 had grown to 750 phones over a seven state region. Tom successfully negotiated the sale of the payphone business in 1999 prior to the wireless boom.

 

Over the next several years Tom held positions of Director of Sales and Marketing for Imports by Four Hands and Chief Operating Officer of Silicon Services Consortium here in Austin. He is the current owner AcuScribe Court Reporters, an industry leader in legal services.

Tom joined TAB as a member in 2005, and has since become a TAB® Certified Facilitator and a Strategic Business Leadership® Coach. He is also a Sales Development expert and is a certified UnCommon Sense© Sales practitioner. His passion is helping business owners in Central Texas achieve their personal vision.

 

Richard Balius

 

Richard BaliusRichard is a TAB® Certified Facilitator and a Strategic Business Leadership® Coach. He is also a licensed practitioner of the Insights Discovery System, UnCommon Sense© Sales, Get Client's Now™, and Quest. Richard is skilled in all aspects of business development including prospecting, presenting and account management. A former U.S. Marine and Austin police officer, Richard has applied this disciplined lifestyle to the discipline of selling. His unique combination of strategy, management, business and communication skills allow him to effectively coach individuals and businesses in the area of customer acquisition.

 

Richard has facilitated over 100 board meetings and conducted over 1000 coaching sessions. His competencies and professional experiences include:

 

  • U.S. Marine Corps--learned a valuable management lesson: Effective organizational power emerges from the alignment of a vision and a mission executed by a team of capable people.
  • Austin Police Officer—trained to deal with people in crisis and use of available resources to bring conditions that are out-of-control into manageable situations.

Jerry Pritchard

 

Jerry PritchardJerry joined ZThree as a TAB® Certified Facilitator and Strategic Business Leadership® Coach in 2009.  He is also an UnCommon Sense© Sales Development expert.


In addition to his roles with TAB and ZThree, Jerry is an owner/partner in three businesses, Austin Urban Partners (a residential real estate development firm, RefresH20 (a distributor of purified water systems), and Strategic Business Solutions, a brokerage agency of “outsourced human resource solutions".


Jerry’s business development expertise is complimented by a successful background in training and development – building teams of self-directed, successful, high achieving individuals.  In his role as majority owner and president of the Austin and San Antonio agencies for Administaff, Inc., Jerry shepherded the business’s growth to a base of 275 client companies, 4500+ worksite employees, and $145MM in annual payroll.


He has over thirty five years of successful business start-up, management, and ownership including a General Motors dealership, oil and gas leasing and production, and a regional sales division for a national computer retailer.


Recruited to the University of Texas at Austin on athletic scholarship, Jerry lettered in football under Coach Darrell Royal. Following graduation with a BA in Marketing from the University of Texas School of Business, Jerry led a Fortune 500 company in sales.  He returned to his home state of New Mexico and later back to Texas to assume ownership and direction of a series of successful business endeavors.

 

Leo Ramirez

 

Leo is a social entrepreneur with exceptionally diverse experience launching and managing nonprofits, leading multi-disciplinary teams and building solid relationships with civic and corporate leaders. His 18-year career has spanned executive management, business development, consulting, support and engineering positions with Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Coremetrics, Trilogy and Apple.

 

He founded his first nonprofit, EDCO Ventures, in 2005 to address job creation in economically underprivileged regions through high-growth, entrepreneurial ventures. He also co-founded Copán, LLC, which provides NextDooring services from Latin America and is Executive Producer for NOC Films’“Zero:Hour.” He is on the Advisory Board of Mexic-Arte Museum, VP of Development on the Mex-Net Alliance Board of Directors and serves on the Dance International Board of Advisors and Proyecto Mosaico Committee for the National Museum of the American Latino. He is a Clean Tech Open Mentor and frequently advises other for-profit and nonprofit entrepreneurs. He was a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Austin. He volunteers his time and talent to numerous education, environmental and entrepreneurship organizations. He also created and teaches Austin’s first childbirth prep class for new fathers at GetBabied. He attended Stanford University’s Computer Systems Engineering Program from 1992–1996.

 

David Perl

 

David is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. He received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a concentration in organizational behavior. He subsequently earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a TAB® certified facilitator, a Strategic Business Leadership® Coach and has more than 20 years of executive leadership experience, building and motivating teams to achieve rapid business growth. 

 

David is currently President and Chief Pragmatist of Pragmatik Ventures, LLC, a consulting firm focused on helping management teams fine-tune corporate strategy and improve operational execution and performance. David’s specific expertise includes:

  • Alignment of organizational design with corporate strategy
  • Turnaround and growth management 
  • Intellectual property strategy, licensing and distribution

  • Strategic business development and partnering 

 

David’s career includes leadership positions in both large and small companies in several industries. Prior to founding Pragmatik Ventures, David was Chief Operating Officer of Alchemy Systems, LP, a workplace training company. He moved to Austin with his family in 1998 to serve as President and Chief Operating Officer of Prosoft Learning Corp., a NASDAQ-traded internet training and certification provider. Earlier in his career, David was the first president and general manager of Otis Transit Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Otis Elevator Company, which is a division of United Technologies Corporation. He worked for Trammell Crow Company, a Dallas-based, global real estate developer, before joining Otis Elevator Company.

 

David is currently Vice President and has served for ten years as an elected board member of his local municipal utility district, helping oversee water operations, wastewater treatment and drainage infrastructure for a 400-home community.

Rick Fuelling

 

Rick Fuelling

Rick Fuelling is a seasoned high energy manager, coach, and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience directing HR activities for Fortune 100 firms spanning diverse industries and locales.  Rick is highly skilled at working with and supporting C-level executives.  He is acclaimed for his consulting, listening and problem solving skills.

Rick served a key role with Dell for nearly 8 years as Director of HR before successfully transitioning to entrepreneurship, starting his own consulting practice specializing in small to mid-sized firms.  His consulting services include workforce & leadership development, strategic planning, employee relations, recruiting and organizational design.  He excels at helping growth oriented firms solve organizational issues by recommending sustainable and scalable people processes.

To satisfy his entrepreneurial appetite, Rick developed an iPhone application called Coaching Assistant, which is currently available in the Apple store.  From 2000 to 2004, he owned and operated an exotic game ranch in Blanco, personally coordinating and managing game hunts for individuals and groups.  Rick co-founded the Austin Miracle League, a baseball league for special needs children currently supplying smiles and giggles to 250 special needs children from Central Texas. With the help of the Round Rock Express, Rick was instrumental in helping to build a state-of-the-art stadium in Northwest Austin for the children.  He is a Board Member of the Round Rock School System Partners in Education group, a non-profit dedicated to raising money for the students through planned fund-raising activities, scholarships and grants.  He also serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Concordia University Business School helping the faculty create their human resources curriculum.

Rick is able to quickly understand business problems and apply creative, cost effective solutions.  Comfortable in the internal consultant role, he has supported numerous C-level executives with timely and effective organizational effectiveness solutions with such companies as Frito-Lay, Arco, Kraft, Dell and AMD.  Rick joined TAB in 2011 as a member and became a TAB Certified Facilitator and Strategic Business Leadership Coach in 2013.

Rick has both a B. S. in Business Administration and an M.A in Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University, where he played football and track.  He lives in Austin with his wife and daughter who attends Westwood High School, with boy-girl twins enrolled in TCU and Oklahoma State University.  An ex-marathon runner, he now spends his time biking and swimming in deference to his ankles and knees.
